Cancel your Gusto account

Once you cancel your Gusto account you will no longer be able to pay employees through Gusto this year, the cancellation is not reversible, and you cannot return to Gusto until the following year. 

To begin the process of canceling your account, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Settings tab.
  2. Click the Plan & Billing tab.
  3. Click Cancel Account under your Monthly Plan.
  4. Select the reason you're canceling.
  5. Answer any additional questions prompted based on your reason for canceling. We'll handle (or not handle) filing and paperwork based on the selections you make during this step. 
  6. Click Continue.
    • We may ask to connect with you before you can proceed - canceling a payroll subscription can have serious implications and we want to make every effort to set you up for success. 
  7. Type in the company name as listed above the text box in Red.
    • Use exact capitalization and spacing
  8. Check all boxes to acknowledge the statements associated.
  9. Click Cancel Account.

You'll continue to have access to your account and all historical records, including all data and reports from previous years.
