How can we help?

Integrate with Truework

Employees can connect to Truework and make employment and income verification easier than ever. Truework is available to all employees with a Gusto account and does not require employer setup, participation or approval.

Truework is a free service for employees and employers–the verification fee is paid by the lender/verifier.

How it works

When you apply for a loan, job or an apartment, a verifier (such as a bank or landlord) may submit a request for employment and/or income information. Once connected to Truework, you'll get an email when a verifier requests your employment information. You’ll then be able to approve or deny the request to share your information.

You can proactively authorize Truework or wait for a verifier to initiate a request.

Connect to Truework proactively

  1. Sign in to your employee profile.
  2. Go to the Job & pay section.
  3. Click the Verify your employment link on the bottom right of the page.
  4. Click Connect Truework

Once connected you’ll receive verification requests by email. For next steps, review the “Additional requests for income and employment verification” headline below.

  1. Have the verifier request employment and income verification from Truework.

  2. Gusto will send you a followup email with next steps–open the email and click Authorize Truework.
  3. Sign in to your employee account in Gusto, and then click Authorize.
    • You’ll be taken to the Truework site.
  4. Click View Your Employment Information to see a report of the verification request.
  5. Click Approve or Deny at the top of the report.
    • Click Report Errors to dispute any information that looks incorrect
      • You should receive an email from Gusto within a week about the errors reported.

Once you approve the request for information, Truework provides the verifier with your employment and income information.
