How can we help?

Integrate with YearEnd

YearEnd is an employee-benefit that helps startup and tech employees optimize their equity and taxes. Employees can even file their tax returns through YearEnd.

Gusto integrates with YearEnd to onboard employees into the company’s YearEnd subscription.

Customers who join Gusto from YearEnd will receive Gusto free for their first 3 months.

Connect YearEnd to Gusto and add users to your YearEnd subscription

The information Gusto pushes to YearEnd is read-only. YearEnd can not create, nor update information in Gusto.

  1. Sign in to YearEnd.

  2. Click Manage users on the left navigation pane.

  3. Click the Import users button.

  4. Click on the Gusto card.

    • This will direct you to Gusto’s website.

  5. Enter your Gusto credentials and click Sign In.

  6. Click Authorize.

    • You will be redirected back to YearEnd’s "Manage users" page.

  7. Scroll down to the “Not added” users.

    • If a user already has a subscription, they will be flagged as “Yes” under the column “User already has subscription.”
  8. Click the email icon (envelope) next to the individual’s name.

  9. Click Add to subscription.

    • Employees will receive an email to activate their account.

      • Once activated, their profile will already include information pulled from Gusto: name, email, phone number, address, company name, title, hire date, salary, and pay frequency.

  10. Remind employees that they must update their tax withholding information in YearEnd. To do so, employees will need to click Manage account > Financial Info in their YearEnd account.

    • This information will not sync from Gusto.

    • Federal tax withholding will default to a “Single” filing status with a withholding amount of “1”.

    • The State withholding section of their YearEnd account will pre-populate information based on the employee’s address in Gusto. If unavailable, it will default to California. Employees should update this section as needed.

Syncing new people to YearEnd

Employees are not automatically synced from Gusto to YearEnd when created in Gusto. To sync employees over:

  1. Click Manage users on the left navigation pane.

  2. Click the Import users button.

  3. Click the refresh icon at the bottom left of the Gusto card.
