If you canceled your company's Gusto account, you may be able to reactivate it and continue processing payroll.
If you're returning to Gusto from a Professional Employer Organization (PEO or CPEO), review these reminders first.
To request your account be reactivated:
Sign in to your Gusto admin account. If you need help signing in, get help here.
From the Home page, click Reactivate Account. If you do not see the option, contact us by clicking the help icon (?) in the top-right corner of the page.
Select your next check date with Gusto.
Select if you have run a payroll with another provider.
Check the box if you understand.
Complete any outstanding dashboard to-do items, then click Submit.
We'll reach out to you within two business days to let you know if your account is eligible for reactivation.
In the meantime, complete the account reactivation checklist below.
When you reactivate your Gusto account in the same year it was deactivated, we’ll automatically refund any filing fees that were previously charged.
Important: Reactivating an account in the same year will restart Gusto’s filing services, even if you had elected not to file earlier when canceling.

Refunds are issued 2–3 business days after the account is reactivated.
