You can add and refer clients from your Gusto Partner dashboard. Click the dropdowns below to learn more.
Adding a client to your dashboard gives you full access to your client's payroll account, including the ability to run payroll and view reports. New Gusto clients added from this page will count towards the Partner program.
What's next? Click Continue setup to start setting up your client's Gusto account yourself, or add another admin to invite a different user that will complete the setup.
If you're an administrative user or admin on the client's Gusto account, the client will automatically show up on your Partner Dashboard.
If your client is missing from your Partner Dashboard, have the primary administrator for that client add you as a payroll administrator and enter the email address associated with your Gusto accountant account. Once you're added, this client will automatically show up in your Partner Dashboard.
Note: If you do not create the account from your Partner Dashboard, it will not be eligible for the partner discount.
Invited clients receive an email where they can sign up and create their own Gusto account. You'll be able to access and help manage this account.
Note: Invited clients added from this page will count towards the Partner program.
Gusto Partners (accountants) who refer a non-client business can receive a $300 Visa virtual gift card, and the referred business receives a $100 Visa virtual gift card too.
This type of referral does not give you administrative access to the company’s payroll or reports. If you’d like administrative access, add a new client or an existing client from your Dashboard.
Refer a business that's not a client
Once the referred business signs up and pays their first invoice, you and the referred business will receive your gift cards. You'll see the referred business’ referral status at the bottom of the Refer & earn section.
Keep in mind: Payouts are issued 30 days after any free trial period has expired, and the company has paid their first Gusto invoice.
If you need to remove a company from the firm dashboard, change the client to be the primary admin and/or signatory if they're not already.
Make sure the client is then set up to be billed to themselves, not billed to your partner firm.
Once the client is the primary admin of their own Gusto account, and billing has been updated, reach out to the client and ask that they remove you as a payroll administrator.
