High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)

A High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is a type of health plan that has generally lower premiums and higher deductibles than other types of health plans. It's often combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA), which can be used to pay for certain medical expenses with pre-tax dollars.

If your benefits are brokered by Gusto, a qualifying HDHP will usually have "HDHP" or "HSA" in the plan name. If you enroll in an HDHP and your company offers a Health Savings Account (HSA), you'll be shown the option to enroll in the HSA as well. If your company offers benefits through another broker, ask your plan administrator for details.
