As an admin, you can keep a private, running record of how a new team member is settling in during their first 90 days. You will pick a schedule, and each time a check-in comes up, you record a quick rating and an optional note. Only admins with full access or performance permissions can see this information. This applies to both employees and contractors.
Important: New hire check-ins is still rolling out. If you do not see this feature yet, check back soon.
To turn on check-ins during onboarding, follow these steps.
Go to People and start onboarding a new team member.
When you reach the Enroll in apps step, find the New hire check-ins card.
Click See how it works to preview the experience, or leave the default schedule and continue.
Choose a schedule:
30, 60, and 90 days (default)
Every 2 weeks, three times total
Save your selection to create the scheduled check-ins.
This feature is turned on by default. Admins can turn it off at this step of onboarding.
You can add a check-in for any team member at any time. You do not need to have set up a schedule during onboarding.
To add a check-in, follow these steps.
Go to the team member profile and click the Performance tab.
In the Check-ins section, click the ⋯ menu and click Add new check-in.
Choose a rating:
Going well
Too early to tell
Some concerns
Add an optional note.
Click Submit. You can edit an incomplete check-in any time before you submit it.
Note: This is a tab on the individual team member profile. It is not the same as the company-wide Performance section some plans have in the left navigation. Check-ins do not currently appear there.
To manage your check-in schedule, follow these steps.
In the Check-ins section, click the ⋯ menu and click Manage schedule.
Add a new check-in date, or delete an existing one to cancel it.
Click Save schedule to confirm your changes.
Note: There is currently no single option to turn off a check-in schedule. To stop check-ins for a team member, delete each one from the Manage schedule drawer.
Only admins with full access, or limited access with performance permissions, can see check-in ratings and notes. Managers cannot see check-ins unless they also have one of those admin permission levels. The team member also cannot see the check-ins.
