Gusto integrates with Mosaic to sync employee headcount and payroll-related information. The flow of information is one-way from Gusto to Mosaic, Mosaic can not push information to Gusto.
Customers who join Gusto from Mosaic will receive Gusto free for their first 3 months.
Information that will sync:
- Employee Name
- Department
- Job Title (Role)
- Compensation
- Job Status (hired or dismissed)
- Contractor name (if applicable)
- Contractor rate (if applicable)
- Benefits and other deductions
- Keep in mind: only benefits information needed for financial purposes will sync. Details such as plan type will not.

Connect to Gusto from Mosaic

Sign in to Mosaic.
- Scroll to and click the “Data Status” icon in the bottom half of the left hand navigation pane.
- When the popover appears, click the Data Connection header.
- Select Gusto from the list of API Integrations and click Connect.
- Click Authorize integration in the pop-up window.
- This will direct you to Gusto’s website.
- Enter your Gusto credentials and click Sign in.
- Click Authorize.
- This will redirect you back to Mosaic’s Data Connections page.
- To confirm that Mosaic has been connected, look for the green “Connected” button next to the Gusto card.
- If Gusto did not connect successfully, you will see a “Not Connected” red button instead. Click the Reconnect button to restart the connection process.
Once connected, you can click the Data Status icon to review the connection status or view the timestamp for the last time data synced successfully.
Syncing information from Gusto to Mosaic
Once Gusto has been connected to Mosaic, data from Gusto will sync to Mosaic twice daily.
If you need to sync information manually (on-demand), follow the steps below:
- Scroll to and click the “Data Status” icon in the bottom half of the left hand navigation pane.
- Next to Gusto, click the sync now button.
