Integrate with Brex

Brex is a financial operating system that provides banking alternatives built for the next generation of businesses. Features include business bank accounts, corporate credit cards, and a dedication to building a financial OS that will integrate with the services and software you’ll need as your business grows.

Gusto integrates with Brex by syncing payroll information (the total payroll debit) to Brex so you can see upcoming payments, track payroll spending, and ultimately manage funds all in one place.  

If you’re new to Gusto, sign up from the Brex dashboard to receive 50% your first 12 months of payroll with Gusto. 

Set up the Gusto and Brex integration

If you’ve received an email from Brex about linking your accounts, you can get started directly from the email. If you’d like to set up the integration but don’t have an email, you can do so from the Integrations section or Company Settings section of your Brex admin account. 

  1. Click Learn more in the email.
    • You’ll be taken to your Brex account if you’re already logged in, otherwise, sign in first.
  2. Click Get started.
  3. Review the information that syncs and click Continue.
    • Email
    • Address
    • Brex Cash account number. If you're an existing Gusto user, you'll need to add your Brex Cash account number in Gusto manually.
  4. Click Create with email or Create with Google to get started with the creation of your new Gusto account. 
  5. Click Done in Brex to remove the popup.
  6. Go to the Integrations section in Brex.
  7. Click Finish setup in the Gusto tile.
  8. Click Go to Gusto.
    • You’ll be redirected to the Gusto site to sign in and authorize the integration.
  9. Sign in and click Authorize.
  10. Click Done on the confirmation screen stating “Gusto is now integrated with your Brex account.” 
  11. If you already had a Gusto account before setting up the integration, you still need to add your Brex Cash account as the company bank account in Gusto.
    • New Gusto users will have their Brex Cash account automatically set up in Gusto.

Brex won’t access any historical payment information from Gusto. This means you won’t see upcoming payments until you’ve processed your first Gusto payroll with Brex Cash integrated.

View estimated payroll payments

The estimated payment is the estimated total debit for the upcoming payroll. It's based on the previous payrolls but may vary based on the upcoming payroll's details. You can find the final debit amount in Gusto once you run payroll.

  1. Sign in to Brex.
  2. Go to the Cash section.
  3. Select Payments from the left-menu.
  4. Click any upcoming Gusto entries to view the details on the right side of the page. 
    • Add a memo to the payment if desired.

You can click Process on Gusto when you’re ready to process payroll–you’ll be taken to your Gusto account.

Disconnect the Gusto and Brex integration

  1. Sign in to Brex.
  2. Go to the Settings section.
  3. Click the Company tab.
  4. Under “Payroll” click Disconnect next to Gusto.
  5. Click Yes, disconnect.

This will remove your ability to see upcoming payroll payment estimates.
