Integrate with Teamtailor

Teamtailor is an applicant tracking system made for all company sizes. With modern features optimized for you and your candidates, Teamtailor has everything you need to recruit successfully.

With the Gusto and Teamtailor integration, Teamtailor can automatically send your new hires’ info to Gusto so you can quickly onboard them to your team.

For contractors, Teamtailor sends the same info as employees plus:

Connect to Gusto from Teamtailor 

  1. Sign in to your Teamtailor admin account.
  2. Click the shop icon (for the Marketplace) in the top right corner.
  3. Choose Gusto. 
  4. Click Activate.
  5. Enter the sign-in credentials for your Gusto admin account. 
  6. If you have more than one company with Gusto, choose the business you’d like Teamtailor to integrate with. 
  7. Click Authorize to allow Teamtailor to connect to Gusto.

Your Gusto and Teamtailor accounts are now connected. In Gusto, Teamtailor is now listed under “Connected apps” in the App directory. In Teamtailor, you can now set up triggers that tell Teamtailor when to send candidate info to Gusto. 

Add sync triggers to your Teamtailor jobs

If you want Teamtailor to automatically send new hires’ data to Gusto once they reach a certain stage, follow the steps below to set up triggers for job listings. 

  1. Sign in to your Teamtailor admin account.
  2. Go to the Jobs section.
  3. Click the name of the job you want to set up a trigger for.
  4. Under the “Applications,” tab, click Triggers.
  5. Under “Hired,” click the plus sign (+).
  6. Select the Send webhook, Gusto.
  7. Click Choose a Gusto Company.
  8. Select the company that this job corresponds to. 
  9. Click Add trigger.

The action “Send webhook to Gusto” is now listed under the “Hired” stage for this job. Once you hire a candidate for this job in Teamtailor, they’re automatically added to Gusto—find them by heading to the People section and going to the Onboarding tab. Click on the new hire’s name in Gusto to finish filling out their information and start their onboarding checklist.

Troubleshooting note: If the new hire already has a Gusto account and their email address is the same in Gusto and Teamtailor, the sync will fail. Change their email address in Teamtailor then follow the below steps to manually send their info to Gusto. 

Manually send a candidate’s info to Gusto

If you haven’t set up a trigger for a certain job and you want Teamtailor to send a new hire’s info to Gusto, follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to your Teamtailor admin account.
  2. Go to the Jobs section.
  3. Choose the name of the job that the candidate is associated with.
  4. Click the candidate’s name.
  5. Click the three dots icon.
  6. Select Integrations.
  7. Choose Send webhook, Gusto.
  8. Select the Gusto company that this person’s data should be sent to.
  9. Click Send webhook. 
    • If you receive an error message (such as, “Must choose one Contract Type”), review the info listed under the candidate's name. Find the field(s) named in the error message and click to select an entry. Then click Retry.

Once complete, you can find the new hire in Gusto: Head to the People section and go to the Onboarding tab. Click on their name to finish filling out their information and start their onboarding checklist.

Troubleshooting note: If the new hire already has a Gusto account and their email address is the same in Gusto and Teamtailor, the sync will fail. Change their email address in Teamtailor then try the above steps again.
