The Gusto Recruiting feature is included on Plus and Premium—admins can upgrade at any time.
If an admin added you as a hiring team member for an open role, you'll get an email letting you know.
Hiring team notifications
- You'll be notified by email when new applicants apply.
- We'll also remind you to complete the related scorecard(s) from the Recruiting dashboard.
- On your Home page in Gusto (when signed in as an employee), you'll have access to the Recruiting dashboard by clicking View applicants under the “Recruiting” headline.
For any actions you cannot take as part of the hiring team (e.g., removing a job post), work with your admin.
Use the dropdowns below to learn more, or use CMD + F (or CTRL + F) to search for keywords throughout the article.
Review and manage applicants - From the Home page in your employee profile, scroll to the “Recruiting” headline and click View applicants.
- Click the name of the applicant, or View from the “Actions” column to view the applicant’s submission.
- If desired, leave a comment on the right-hand side of the page by entering some text and clicking Save comment.
- Comments will save to the application itself and be visible to all others who can review the application (admins and any hiring team members).
- To move a candidate to a different stage, click the dropdown next to the "Move stage” headline. You can move an applicant to one of the stages below—only admins with the required access can officially hire a candidate:
- Interviewing
- Moving a candidate to an interview stage will allow anyone on the hiring committee to submit a scorecard for this candidate. This is also when the hiring team will get an email notification to complete their scorecards.
- Once a candidate has been moved to this stage, the hiring team can change the status to one of the below:
- Not hired
- Reminder: Only admins can move a candidate to the "Hired" status.
- Dropped out
- Not interviewed
- Dropped out
- We will not send any communication to the applicant if the status is changed to "Dropped out."
- Review the candidate, determine if you'd like to proceed with an interview, and if so, fill out the scorecard—more information below.
Fill out a scorecard An applicant's scorecard is always visible to admins and team members involved in the hiring process, no matter the candidate's status (interviewing, hired, or rejected). Other admins are only able to see scorecards if they had admin permissions before it was scored.
