Ignition is the world's first client engagement and commerce platform for accounting and bookkeeping firms. The platform helps you easily win new businesses with impressive digital proposals, engage new and existing clients with a clear scope of work, and get paid on time by automating payment collection.
By connecting Ignition to Gusto, you can sync Gusto company data and unlock proposal template content that will help you package, price and offer 3-tiered People Advisory services to your clients.
Follow these steps to set up the integration between Gusto and Ignition.
In Ignition, the Gusto tile is now listed as “Enabled” and the company’s data syncs right away. You can now also access a Gusto-specific Proposal Template from Ignition (scroll to “Access your Gusto Proposal Template” for next steps).
Once you connect your accounts, company data syncs from Gusto to Ignition once a day at 6:00am in the account’s local time zone to capture any changes.
If you need to make client changes, do so in Gusto first. Changes you make in Ignition will be overwritten by the data that syncs from Gusto.
Initiate an immediate sync
If you’ve updated company details in Gusto and want the changes to sync to Ignition right away, follow these steps.
Choose how much company data syncs
In Ignition, you can customize whether the data sync includes all company details, just the client name, or no data.
The Gusto-specific Proposal Template in Ignition will help you package, price and offer 3-tiered People Advisory services to your clients. Follow these steps to create a new Ignition record for your client and access the Gusto proposal template:
The template is the recommended way of packaging People Advisory services. Under “Services,” Ignition has tailored the packages according to service offerings that the client can select from. Once you’ve reviewed and customized the proposal details, you can save the draft and send it to the client.
When you price a service based on a client’s number of active employees, you normally have to check the employee count to issue accurate invoices. With Smart Billing, Ignition can automatically fetch the current employee count from Gusto whenever an invoice is issued.
Step 1: Enable Smart Billing in Settings
After you’ve connected your Gusto and Ignition accounts, follow these steps to enable Smart Billing.
Next, follow the steps below to apply Smart Billing to your proposals.
Step 2: Apply Smart Billing to your proposals
Smart Billing works for services that you bill based on a client’s number of active employees. For per-person billing, the price type must be set up as “Variable - Unit.” Follow the below steps for each proposal or billing schedule that you want Smart Billing to apply to.
The next time an invoice is created based on this proposal, Ignition will automatically check Gusto’s current active employee count. Repeat these steps for each service that you want to use Smart Billing for.
