PerformYard is performance management software for anyone– annual reviews, quarterly goals, continuous feedback and everything in between, PerformYard's software offers flexible features for HR and creates a simple employee experience.
Gusto integrates with PerformYard to reduce administrative overhead by syncing employee information from Gusto to PerformYard.
Admins can follow these steps to connect the integration:
Go to the Administration section by clicking the gear widget in the top-right of the page.
From the left-menu, select HRIS Integrations.
Click Connect to Gusto.
You’ll be redirected to the Gusto sign-in page if you aren’t already logged in,
Enter your Gusto sign-in credentials and click Sign In.
Click Authorize.
You’ll be redirected back to PerformYard.
Confirm the Gusto company you’re looking to integrate, and click Continue.
Select which information fields you plan to connect–fields you select will not be editable in PerformYard, updates to that information must be made in Gusto:
First name - required
Last name - required
Job Title
Manager
Hire Date
Termination Date
Click Next.
Review each Gusto employee and determine if you’d like to use the suggested match, find the correct employee match (if there was a mismatch), or create a new PerformYard employee.
If you do not want to utilize a suggested match: click remove.
If there is no match:
Search for an existing PerformYard employee. An employee match may not initially work if the email addresses in both systems do not match.
Create a new PerformYard employee. This option should be auto-selected for employees where a match was not found. PerformYard will use the employee’s work email in Gusto to create an account. You can change the email address if desired, or click the red x next to the email to not create a new account.
Click Next.
Use the filter icon next to the search bar to review lists and take action - this is how you’ll manage employees between the systems.
This will default to the option “Gusto employee to connect/add to PerformYard. If you’ve already added all employees, you won’t see any names until you filter using a different option.
After the initial connection, you can return to the HRIS Integrations page to manage employees based on updates received from Gusto. Updates from Gusto will automatically sync hourly to PerformYard, and you can see the last time a sync occurred in the upper-right hand corner of the Employees tab.
To sync information manually, follow the steps below:
Head to the HRIS Integrations section.
In the Employees tab, click Sync.
Choose to connect, change, ignore, or create a new account for any new users.
Click Save Employees.

Edit the fields that sync
You may want to edit the fields you’re syncing from Gusto to PerformYard. To do so:
Head to the HRIS Integrations section.
Click the Fields tab.
Select or deselect the fields you’d like to sync.
Go to the Administration section by clicking the gear widget in the top-right of the page.
From the left-menu, select Bulk User Logs.
Identify the issue from the logs, and attempt to rectify.
Manager mismatch
If managers differ between platforms, you may not want to sync that data. At this time, you’re unable to deselect fields for a single individual.
Data mismatch
Perform a manual resync.
Validate that any 'as-of' dates in Gusto (ie. a dismissal date) have passed to verify that PerformYard is displaying current values.
Email address does not sync
Email addresses will be used to match upon the initial sync, but will not update ongoing. If an employee changes their address in Gusto, it’ll need to be updated manually in PerformYard.
Managing PerformYard-only employee information
Add the employee to PerformYard manually, not through the Gusto integration. Elect to not map the employee to a Gusto account by ‘ignoring’ the sync. This allows you to manage all data fields about the user in PerformYard.
