This article is for admins who want to connect WizeHire to Gusto.
WizeHire is an online recruiting system that helps you find and hire the right people. Gusto and WizeHire work together to connect your recruiting process to onboarding and payroll. Once you hire a new candidate in WizeHire, you can send their details to Gusto to complete their onboarding and payroll setup.
Note: Customers who join Gusto from WizeHire will receive Gusto payroll free for their first 3 months.
Before you can send new hires to Gusto, you need to connect your WizeHire and Gusto accounts. You can connect an existing Gusto account or create a new one during setup.
To connect to Gusto from WizeHire:
In the top right of your dashboard, click your company name.
Click Settings.
Click Payroll Integrations (not just Integrations).
Click Connect Account to connect a pre-existing Gusto account. Click Create an Account to create a Gusto account.
If you clicked Create an Account: Follow the prompts and then check your email for any next steps to complete your Gusto onboarding.
Enter your Gusto sign-in credentials and click Sign In.
Select which company or companies you’d like to authorize and click Authorize.
Once your accounts are connected, you can send new hires from WizeHire to Gusto to start their onboarding. WizeHire supports syncing both W-2 employees and 1099 contractor hires.
To send a new hire from WizeHire to Gusto:
Go to your Job dashboard and locate the candidate you’re hiring.
Drag your new hire’s candidate card into the hired stage.
A pop-up will appear with steps to send them to payroll.
If the hire was already in the hired stage:
Click their candidate card.
Click Onboarding.
Click Add {Employee Name} to Your Payroll.
Complete any next steps in the modal to export the new hire to Gusto.
In Gusto, go to People.
Click the Onboarding team members tab.
In the Actions column, click on the three vertical dots next to their name.
Click Continue Setup.
Fill in any missing information.
Click Save & continue.
Fill out any remaining parts of the employee profile so it’s complete and accurate.
Employee information that syncs from WizeHire to Gusto:
First and last name
Start date
Email address
Phone number
Compensation/Salary
Job title
Employment status
The following information does not sync:
Date of job offer
Tax exemption status (set by hiring manager)
If you have problems syncing hires between WizeHire and Gusto, these common fixes can help.
“I can’t find my new hire in Gusto.”
Reach out to WizeHire at [email protected] for assistance.
“I had trouble adding my new employee to my Gusto account.”
Try adding the employee again in a few hours. If the problem persists, contact WizeHire support at [email protected].
“I accidentally added the wrong information about my new hire to Gusto.”
Once you add your employee to Gusto, you can always make edits directly in Gusto.
