Integrate with Workiz

Workiz is a field service management and communication software for home-service businesses. Manage jobs, invoices, online payments, leads and more all in one place.

Gusto integrates with Workiz to sync employees’ regular and overtime hours directly from Workiz to Gusto.

Customers who join Gusto from Workiz will receive Gusto payroll free for their first 3 months.

Connect to Gusto from Workiz

Before getting started, keep in mind that you can only sync one Workiz account to one Gusto account–select the company desired in the below steps.

  1. Sign in to Workiz.
  2. Go to the Reports section.
  3. Click Timesheets.
  4. In the top-right of the page, click New! Discover easy payrolls with Gusto.
  5. If you already have a Gusto account, click Connect With Gusto.
    • If you’re new to Gusto, click the Explore Gusto And Workiz Free For 3 Months link and then Create my gusto account. Workiz will send Gusto some basic information, you’ll create your account with a selected email address, and then you’ll complete your onboarding once you receive the welcome email from Gusto.
  6. If not already signed in, enter your Gusto sign-in credentials and click Sign In.
  7. Select one company to authorize, and click Authorize.
  8. Next, map your Workiz team to Gusto employees:
    • For employees who were automatically identified as matches, indicate if they’re correct or incorrect.
    • Click a Workiz employee on the left and then click the correlated Gusto employee on the right to sync manually.
    • Click Add as new Gusto employee.
      • Head to Gusto to complete the onboarding for your employee, or invite them to self-onboard.
  9. Click Finish Sync.

You can add and sync additional employees later in the Employees tab.

Send payroll hours to Gusto

Workiz will only send payroll hours for employees who are fully onboarded in Gusto and classified as “hourly”, or salaried employees with hourly-based salary. For employees with fixed salaries in Gusto, payroll hours/timesheets will not sync.

  1. In the Gusto integration page, click the Payroll tab.
  2. You’ll see a list of your synced users and their timesheets for the selected payroll period.
    • The selected payroll period is defined by your Gusto account settings. If you need to change your pay schedule, read more here.
  3. Make sure your company's overtime setting are correct.
    • The default is based on a standard of 8-hour workday and 40 hours a week. If you wish to change that: click on the Overtime button, and edit as needed.
  4. Click Send Hours, then click Yes to send your team’s payroll to Gusto.

To confirm the hours were synced, head to your Gusto account and click the Payroll section and select Run payroll. Select the applicable pay period to view the hours.
