Integrate with Engagedly

Engagedly is a performance management platform that aligns your people practices with organizational strategy. Engagedly's modular platform also enables people development with one-on-one feedback, LMS, mentoring or coaching, and you can engage your people with recognition and rewards, employee surveys, and social praise.

With the Gusto and Engagedly integration, employee and contractor data syncs to Engagedly so you can more efficiently onboard them. Info that syncs: first and last name, email, employee ID, date of hire, location, employment type, job title, department date of birth, and primary phone number.  

Connect to Gusto from Engagedly

  1. Sign in to Engagedly.
  2. In the left menu, go to Settings.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Next to "Gusto," click Connect.
  5. Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign In
  6. Choose the Gusto account(s) you want to connect to Engagedly and click Authorize.

In Engagedly, Gusto’s status changes to “Connected” once your accounts are linked. In Gusto, Engagedly is added to your App directory under “Connected apps.” When you hire someone in Gusto and add them to payroll, their info syncs to Engagedly so you can onboard them and start tracking their performance. 

Information syncs from Gusto to Engagedly daily after 6pm PT. If you want data to sync sooner, you can run a manual sync in Engagedly anytime with the steps below. If you’d like to adjust the daily sync schedule, you can reach out to Engagedly Support. 

Manually sync information to Gusto

If you want data to update sooner than the automatic daily sync, you can run a manual sync in Engagedly anytime with the steps below.  

  1. Sign in to Engagedly.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Select Gusto.
  5. Click Sync Users.

A message will appear in the top right corner of the page once the sync is complete. 

Troubleshoot syncing issues

Integration is disconnected 

If you have syncing issues (perhaps if an admin was changed or if you receive a message that a token is invalid), follow these steps to disconnect and reconnect the integration. 

  1. Sign in to Engagedly.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Select Gusto.
  5. Click Disconnect.
  6. Once disconnected, click Connect.
  7. Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign In
  8. Choose the Gusto account(s) you want to connect to Engagedly and click Authorize.

In Engagedly, Gusto’s status changes to “Connected” once your accounts are re-linked. In Gusto, Engagedly is added to your App directory under “Connected apps.” 

An employee’s info isn’t syncing 

If someone’s name or email is different in Gusto and Engagedly, their data may not sync. There are a couple ways you can fix this: either update their email in Engagedly so it matches their primary email in Gusto, or follow the steps below to add their employee ID to Engagedly to match their accounts. 

  1. First, find their employee or contractor ID in Gusto:
    • Sign in to your Gusto admin account.
    • Go to the People section and choose Team members
    • Click the name of the person you’re updating. 
    • In the address bar of your browser, copy the number that appears at the end of the URL (ex: gusto.com/payroll_admin/employees/7757515807336494). 
  2. Update the employee/contractor’s ID in Engagedly:
    • Sign in to Engagedly.
    • Under “Overview,” click Active Users.
    • Click the name of the employee you’re updating.
    • Find the “Employee ID” field and paste the number you found in Gusto. 
    • Click Save.
  3. Then run a manual sync to update the employee:
    • In Engagedly, go to the Settings tab.
    • Click Integrations.
    • Select Gusto.
    • Click Sync Users.

Once the sync is complete, the employee’s Engagedly account will update with the information listed for them in Gusto.
