This article is for admins who want to connect Gusto with Engagedly.
Engagedly is a performance management platform that aligns your people practices with organizational strategy. Its modular platform supports people development through one-on-one feedback, a learning management system (LMS), mentoring, and coaching. You can also engage your team with recognition and rewards, employee surveys, and social praise.
With the Gusto and Engagedly integration, employee and contractor data syncs with Engagedly, so that you can onboard them more efficiently.
The following information syncs:
First and last name
Employee ID
Date of hire
Location
Employment type
Job title
Department
Date of birth
Primary phone number
Connecting Gusto to Engagedly takes just a few minutes. Once connected, employee and contractor data syncs automatically every day, keeping your teams up to date across both platforms.
To connect to Gusto from Engagedly:
In the left menu, go to Settings.
Click Integrations.
Next to Gusto, click Connect.
Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign In.
Choose the Gusto account(s) you want to connect to Engagedly and click Authorize.
In Engagedly, Gusto’s status changes to Connected once your accounts are linked. In Gusto, Engagedly is added to your App directory under Connected apps. When you hire someone in Gusto and add them to payroll, their info syncs to Engagedly so you can onboard them and start tracking their performance.
Information syncs from Gusto to Engagedly daily after 6pm PT. To sync sooner, you can run a manual sync in Engagedly at any time. To adjust the daily sync schedule, contact Engagedly Support.
By default, data syncs from Gusto to Engagedly once a day after 6pm PT. If you need your data updated sooner, you can run a manual sync in Engagedly at any time.
To manually sync Gusto data to Engagedly:
Go to the Settings tab.
Click Integrations.
Select Gusto.
Click Sync Users.
A message will appear in the top-right corner once the sync is complete.
If your data is not syncing correctly between Gusto and Engagedly, use the steps below to resolve common issues.
The integration can disconnect if an admin changes or if you get a message that a token is invalid. To fix this, disconnect and reconnect the integration.
To reconnect the integration:
Go to the Settings tab.
Click Integrations.
Select Gusto.
Click Disconnect.
Once disconnected, click Connect.
Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign In.
Choose the Gusto account(s) you want to connect to Engagedly and click Authorize.
In Engagedly, Gusto’s status changes to Connected once your accounts are re-linked. In Gusto, Engagedly is added to your App directory under Connected apps.
If a team member’s name or email address differs between Gusto and Engagedly, their data may not sync. You can fix this in one of two ways. Either update their email in Engagedly to match their primary email in Gusto, or follow the steps below to add their employee ID to Engagedly to link their accounts.
To fix a team member’s info not syncing:
First, find their employee or contractor ID in Gusto:
Go to People.
Click the name of the person you’re updating.
In the address bar of your browser, copy the number at the end of the URL (example: gusto.com/payroll_admin/employees/7757515807336494).
Update the team member’s ID in Engagedly:
Under Overview, click Active Users.
Click the name of the team member you’re updating.
Find the Employee ID field and paste the number you found in Gusto.
Click Save.
Then run a manual sync to update the employee:
In Engagedly, go to the Settings tab.
Click Integrations.
Select Gusto.
Click Sync Users.
Once the sync is complete, the team member’s Engagedly account updates with their information from Gusto.
