Customers who join Gusto from Relay will receive Gusto payroll free for their first 3 months.
Once you click save, your company’s Gusto and Relay accounts are connected. In order for transaction data to sync to Gusto, make sure you’ve designated Relay as the bank you use for payroll. Employee and transaction data sync daily. If you want data to update sooner than the daily sync, you can run a manual sync anytime with the steps in the "Sync employee and payroll data" accordion below.
For employees who already have both Gusto and Relay accounts, follow these steps to link their accounts. Linking employees' accounts allows Relay to update their personal info (such as job title and address) anytime it's changed in Gusto.
Once connected, any changes made to the employee's personal info in Gusto will sync to Relay within a day. If you want their info to sync sooner, follow the steps below in the "Sync employee and payroll data" accordion.
When you've set Relay as your company bank account in Gusto, transaction data syncs automatically from Gusto to Relay every day.

Provision Relay accounts for new hires
When you hire new a employee in Gusto, you can quickly send their info to Relay to streamline their banking and corporate card provisioning. You can assign each user one of seven different sets of permissions and they'll be invited to set up their Relay account.
Follow these steps to sync a Gusto employee's info to Relay and invite them to set up a Relay account:
The person you selected will receive an email inviting them to set up their Relay account. Their access to checking accounts, cards, and other features are determined by the settings you authorized in step 6 above. If necessary you can resend an invitation from the Team section of your Relay admin account.
Once you’ve set up the integration and run payroll (with Relay set as your company bank account in Gusto), here's how to find detailed transaction data in Relay:
Payments made to contractors also include each contractor’s name and their payment method (direct deposit, check, historical payment, or correction payment).
If there’s a risk that insufficient funds may prevent Gusto from initiating a scheduled payroll, admins will receive shortfall alerts 14 and 7 days before a scheduled payroll. Relay determines shortfall risk based on previous payroll transactions, account balance, and scheduled outgoing payments. Payroll transactions will not be completed if there are insufficient funds in the connected checking account.
