With the Gusto and Ashby integration, you can quickly send new hires’ information to Gusto so you can begin their new hire onboarding.
Customers who join Gusto from Ashby will receive Gusto payroll free for their first 3 months.
Connect to Gusto from Ashby
- Sign in to Ashby.

In the top menu, click Admin.

Click Integrations in the left menu.

Choose Gusto.

Click Authorize with Gusto.

Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign in.

Click Authorize.

You’ll be you’re redirected to Ashby, where the name of the Gusto account you’ve linked is now listed next to “Gusto Company.”
- If you have admin access to more than one Gusto company: click the dropdown next to “Gusto Company” to indicate which one you’re integrating with Ashby.
The next time you hire someone whose info you want to send to Gusto, follow the steps below.
Send new hire data from Ashby to Gusto
Once a candidate accepts an offer and is marked as “Hired” in Ashby, follow these steps to send their info to Gusto.
- Sign in to Ashby.

In the top menu, click Candidates.

Click Search.
- Search the name of the person you’ve hired and go to their profile.

Under “Current Activities,” click Add Candidate Data.

If this button doesn’t appear, make sure the person has been marked as “Hired.” Click Change Stage in the top right corner to change their status.
Once the sync is complete, you can start onboarding the new hire in Gusto:

Sign in to your Gusto admin account.

Head to the People section and choose Team members.
- Under “Candidates,” click the new hire’s name.

Complete their onboarding.
Troubleshoot syncing issues
If you receive an error message when syncing a new hire to Gusto, it may be because an admin’s credentials have changed or the integration has been disconnected. Follow these steps to reauthorize access to Gusto:

In Ashby, head to Admin in the top menu bar.

Click Integrations in the left menu.

Select Gusto.
-
Click Re-authorize Gusto access.
- Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign in.
- Return to the new hire’s Ashby profile and try syncing their info again.
