If you offer health insurance, you can add your broker to Gusto and integrate your existing plans and service with Gusto’s all-in-one payroll and HR platform. Your broker gets special access to your team’s group insurance plans so they can monitor and make changes. Your team can self-enroll, view plan details, and update information right in Gusto, saving you and your broker time.
Here’s what’s included:
The broker integration is available to the Complete, Concierge, and Select plans for $6 per eligible employee per month. This fee applies to businesses who integrate with external brokers only—there’s no additional cost to using Gusto as your broker.
When our team sets up your broker integration, let us know if you’re interested in any of these additional features.
ACA filing
State continuation and COBRA administration
Tax-advantaged accounts
Are you interested in setting up the broker integration with Gusto? We’d love to hear from you! Here’s how to get started:
We’ll reach out to discuss your current plans and help you decide if the broker integration is a good fit for your team. If you decide to move forward, we’ll work with you and your broker to set up your benefits in Gusto. Once the integration is active, admins and enrolled employees can find plan details in the Benefits section of their account.
Once we start setting up your benefits in Gusto, we’ll let you know when to follow the steps below and grant your broker admin permissions in Gusto.
Follow these steps if your broker does not yet have admin access to Gusto. Admin permissions can only be added or changed by your company’s primary admin.
Once your broker sets up their account, they can manage your company’s benefits, set up employee deductions, and view payroll reports and tax filings.
If your broker is already an admin of your company, follow these steps to make sure they have the benefits access they’ll need. Admin permissions can only be added or changed by your company’s primary admin.
The next time your broker logs in as an admin, they’ll have access to manage your company’s benefits, set up employee deductions, and view payroll reports and tax filings.
We automatically notify eligible new hires to view and choose coverage in Gusto. Then we’ll notify your broker to process their enrollment.
Employees who experience a qualifying life event can request a benefit change in Gusto. Your broker will be notified to process their change with the carriers.
If the employee was enrolled in benefits, your broker will be notified to process their coverage termination. If your integration includes the COBRA add-on, the employee will receive a notice of continuation and an enrollment packet. Learn more about continuation administration here.
When your plans renew, we’ll work with your broker to update your plans in Gusto. Employees will be notified when it’s time to complete open enrollment in Gusto.
If you have questions about your benefits, contact your broker directly. They'll answer any questions about coverage, claims, and more. The table below outlines which tasks your broker will complete themselves vs. when they'll partner with Gusto to make updates.
