From simple reports through to complex consolidations, businesses and accountants use Syft to create, collaborate and explore beautiful financial reports. Syft is read-only and SOC 2 accredited.
Syft Analytics seamlessly integrates with Gusto to transform payroll data into graphs, forecasts, and insights which can be included in customizable reports. Connect Gusto to Syft to complement your data from tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, Stripe, Shopify, and more.
The integration is available on all Gusto and Syft plans. More features like Forecasting and Budgeting are available in the Syft’s Professional and Enterprise+ plans.
You’ll be redirected to Syft where all prior processed payrolls are synced from Gusto to Syft. Once your Gusto data syncs, the Connections page in Syft will update with a different tab for each of your Gusto departments. The Totals tab aggregates your payroll information for each month, company-wide.
Data syncs automatically from Gusto to Syft every 24 hours. You can manually refresh the data anytime in the Connections section of your Syft dashboard by clicking Update now.
If you want to analyze payroll data for more than one Gusto company, follow these steps to add connect other accounts to Syft.
You’ll be redirected to Syft, where the additional company’s data is added to the Connections page beneath your original company’s line items. If you still have more companies to add, repeat the steps above.
Q: If my company uses departments on Gusto for some employees but not others, how can I view metrics on people who are not assigned to departments?
A: Data from Gusto is broken down into departments in Syft’s. The Totals tab aggregates your payroll information for each month, company-wide, including data for people not linked to a department. If you want to separate certain data from the company totals information, you will have to create a separate department in Gusto.
Q: If I cancel, adjust, or reverse a payroll on Gusto, what happens on Syft?
A: If you cancel a payroll before it’s processed, the payroll is not sent to Syft.
When Gusto data is refreshed, Syft receives data for payrolls processed in the last 6 months. If you cancel, adjust, or reverse any payrolls that were processed within the last 6 months, the new data will reflect in Syft after a refresh. If you change a payroll processed more than 6 months prior, you will have to disconnect and re-authorize your Gusto account for a full historical data fetch to reflect the changes.
Q: Are historical payrolls imported into Syft? What if that historical payroll is already in Syft from another source?
A: Yes, all prior processed payrolls from Gusto are imported into Syft when you connect the integration.
If you want to update your Gusto data in Syft before the daily automated sync, you can run a manual sync anytime:
Once the sync is complete, your page will be refreshed with the latest Gusto payroll data.
By default, your Gusto data syncs automatically to Syft every 24 hours. If you want the sync to run more frequently, Syft offers the option to customize the timing for an additional charge. Here’s how to change it:
Once you connect Gusto to Syft, you can use the connected data in a number of Syft features (if available on your Syft plan).
Pro tip: If you want to manually input values for certain scenarios, you can unlink data from your forecasts or budgets then relink it later.
