This article is for admins who want to connect Gusto with Syft Analytics.
Syft Analytics is financial reporting and data analytics software that shows clear visuals of complex financial data. Businesses and accountants use Syft to create, collaborate on, and explore financial reports, from simple summaries to complex consolidations. Syft is read-only and System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) accredited.
Syft Analytics integrates with Gusto to turn payroll data into graphs, forecasts, and insights you can include in customizable reports. Connect Gusto to Syft to complement your data from tools like QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks, Stripe, Shopify, and more.
The integration is available on all Gusto and Syft plans. More features, like Forecasting and Budgeting, are available on Syft’s Professional and Enterprise+ plans.
To use the integration, connect your Gusto account to Syft Analytics. Once connected, your payroll data syncs automatically every 24 hours. If you have more than one Gusto company, you can connect them all.

Here are answers to common questions about how Gusto payroll data syncs with Syft Analytics.
Q: My company uses departments in Gusto for some employees but not others. How can I view metrics for employees who are not in a department?
A: Syft breaks down Gusto data from Gusto by department. The Totals tab aggregates your payroll information for each month, company-wide, including data for employees not linked to a department. If you want to separate certain data from the company totals, you’ll need to create a department in Gusto first.
Q: If I cancel, adjust, or reverse a payroll in Gusto, what happens in Syft?
A: If you cancel a payroll before we process it, Syft does not get that payroll.
When Gusto data refreshes, Syft gets data for payrolls processed in the last six months. If you cancel, adjust, or reverse a payroll processed within the last six months, the updated data will show in Syft after a refresh. If you change a payroll processed more than six months ago, you’ll need to disconnect and re-authorize your Gusto account so Syft can do a full historical data fetch.
Q: Does Syft import historical payrolls from Gusto? What if that historical payroll is already in Syft from another source?
A: Yes, when you connect the integration, Syft imports all previously processed payrolls from Gusto.
