OrgOrg is an organizational productivity suite for businesses using Google Workplace. With OrgOrg you get a suite of applications that help run your organization effectively, like internal short links, a fun employee directory, a branded new tab browser page, and more.
With the Gusto and OrgOrg integration, your employee info syncs from Gusto to OrgOrg, allowing you to manage your employee info in one place and use Gusto as a source of truth. This means your employee data, like someone’s manager, can always be up to date in your company directory.
When you first set up the integration, here’s the kind of employee information you can choose to sync.
Here’s the employee data you can choose from when you first set up the integration.
Work info:
Title
Organization
Manager
Department
Start date
Employee status
Personal info:
Phone
Home city, state, and country
Start date
Birthdate
Once you set up the integration, you can choose even more data to sync—in OrgOrg, go to Org Profiles and choose Settings.
The integration is available to customers on any Gusto and OrgOrg plan. You must be an admin in both Gusto and OrgOrg to set it up.
Follow these steps to connect your accounts.
In the left menu, choose Connectors.
Find the Gusto tile and click Connect.
Enter your Gusto admin credentials and click Sign In.
Choose Authorize.
In the pop-up, choose which fields you want to sync from Gusto.
You can later choose from even more fields to sync from Gusto to OrgOrg—see the steps below under the “Manage sync settings” section below.
Click Save.
You’ll be returned to OrgOrg and presented a list of fields to sync.
When an employee’s info changes for a field you’ve included in the sync, make the update in Gusto. It will sync to OrgOrg immediately and automatically.
You can always see where a specific data field is maintained by hovering over the field in OrgOrg. Example: If you want to know where to update an employee’s title, hover over the field in OrgOrg. If the Gusto logo appears, make the change in Gusto. If not, then that field is not included in the sync and you should update it in both Gusto and OrgOrg.
Where to update employee information
If you’re in OrgOrg and want to know where a specific piece of information is maintained, such as an employee’s title, hover over the field with your mouse. If the Gusto logo appears, that field is maintained in Gusto. Once you make the update there, it instantly syncs to OrgOrg.
View or change which fields sync
Follow the steps below to view or change all the available fields you can choose to sync from Gusto to OrgOrg.
In the left menu, choose Org Profiles.
Go to Settings.
View sync timestamps
When you update a field in Gusto that’s included in the integration, the change is immediately sent to OrgOrg. If you want to see a record of the last sync run, here’s how:
Sign in to OrgOrg as an administrator or owner.
In the left menu, choose Connectors.
Select the Gusto tile.
Manually sync information from Gusto
When you update a field in Gusto that’s included in the OrgOrg sync, the change is immediately and automatically sent to OrgOrg.
If you’d like to run a manual sync, you can do so in OrgOrg’s Gusto dashboard:
Sign in to OrgOrg as an administrator or owner.
In the left menu, choose Connectors.
Select Gusto.
Click Manual Sync.
Check which data fields can sync
If an update is not showing up in OrgOrg, check whether you’ve included that data field in the sync (see “View or change which fields sync” below).
Check which employees can sync
An employee must have the same work email address in both Gusto and OrgOrg in order to sync.
To see a list of Gusto employees who do not have an OrgOrg account, sign in to OrgOrg and go to the Gusto Connector page.
Check the integration connection status
If data is not syncing as expected, the integration could have become disconnected. This can happen if an admin’s Gusto password has changed.
In the left menu, choose Connectors.
Select the Gusto tile.
The connection status will indicate if the integration is disconnected. Click Connect to reenter your Gusto admin credentials and reconnect the integration.
You can disconnect Gusto from OrgOrg through the admin panel. Disconnecting the integration does not affect data that has already synced from Gusto to OrgOrg. Going forward, any updates made in Gusto will not sync to OrgOrg.
Sign in to OrgOrg as an administrator or owner.
In the left menu, choose Connectors.
Find the Gusto tile and click Disconnect.
