This article is for admins who want to use compensation benchmarking to set fair pay for their employees.
Compensation benchmarking uses Gusto's payroll data to help you determine fair pay for employees. You can filter the data by job title, seniority, location, industry, and company size.
The results show pay ranges at different levels (or percentiles), so you can use or share the compensation recommendations.
Location: The "labor market" filter means location. If you're unsure which one to pick, check the labor market guide linked in the tool.
"Curated" vs. "All other jobs":
Curated jobs are vetted by our team. If you cannot find a relevant job title in "curated", try "all other jobs".
"All other jobs" come directly from customer input. If you cannot find a job in "curated", try "all other jobs".
"No exact match found": If you get this message, try removing filters, adding more job titles, or including more industries.
Admins can view compensation benchmarking in Gusto. If you’re an accountant partner, you can also view compensation benchmarking in your firm’s account. Go to People Analytics to find more analytical resources.
