Gusto's Bill Pay, powered by Melio, streamlines your business payment processes and gives you more control over cash flow. You can manage all your bill payments directly within Gusto so that you won’t need multiple tools.

Pay bills in one place: Pay all your bills where you do payroll. You will not need to switch between different platforms.
Choose your payment method: You can pay by bank transfer, check, or credit card. Your vendors can also select how they receive payments, whether by bank transfer or check. With a bank transfer, they can receive funds within minutes.1
See your cash flow: Bill Pay provides insights into your spending. This helps you plan for future costs and manage your cash flow more effectively.
Sync with other accounting software: Bill Pay works with QuickBooks and Xero Sync. Your payment info will sync up automatically.
Track your spending: The system sorts your bills automatically. This makes managing your money easier.
Request a W-9 directly from a vendor: Bill Pay users can request W-9s directly from vendors through a simple email flow, with completed forms securely stored and easily accessible to admins.
As a Global or Primary Admin, here’s how to set up and pay bills with Bill Pay.
To set up Bill Pay:
Go to the Money section and select Bill pay.
Select Get Started to set up Bill Pay.
Now you can start paying bills right from Gusto. Go to the Money section to create or import bills to pay. You can import a bill by uploading it or syncing from QuickBooks or Xero. You can also forward your bill to your unique forwarding address or use Gmail’s integration.
Once you schedule a payment, it’s added to the Payments tab.

As a Global or Primary admin, you can access Melio chat from your Gusto account.
To access Melio chat:
Go to Money.
Select Bill pay.
Next to + New payment, click the Settings icon.
Go to Support.
Under Contact us, select Start a chat.
A specialist will respond within 90 seconds.
Contact Bill Pay by email
As a Global or Primary admin, you can create an email case from your Gusto account.
To create an email case from your Gusto account:
Go to Money and select Bill Pay.
Click Settings.
Go to Support.
Under Contact us, select Help Center.
In the top-right corner, select Submit a question.
Fill in the required information. Make sure to enter the same email address that’s associated with your Gusto account
Select Submit.
A specialist will respond to your email within 12 business hours.
Access to Bill Pay, powered by Melio, is included in your Gusto subscription for eligible companies. Q: How do I cancel a payment in Bill Pay?
A: You can cancel payments that have not yet been sent to the vendor in the Payments tab. If your payment has already been sent out to the vendor, contact Melio for additional options.
Q: How can I change the payment type on an in-process payment in Bill Pay?
A: If a payment is already in process, start by canceling it. Once canceled, return to the pay bill flow and resubmit using your preferred payment method.
Q: How can I contact Melio directly?
A: You can contact Melio directly by following the steps in the Get help with Bill Pay section of the article or by submitting a ticket for assistance via this portal. Please make sure you use your Gusto email address when submitting a ticket through the portal so that your request is processed correctly.
