Q: Do I need to do anything right now? A: No. Guideline has rebranded to Gusto, but your current Gusto and Guideline setup stays exactly the same.
Q: Will my service be disrupted? A: No. Everything continues to work as usual—we'll keep you updated about future enhancements.
Q: Will costs change? A: We're committed to stability and transparency. We do not plan any pricing changes at this time.
Q: Will support channels change? A: No, our support channels are not changing. You'll reach us the same way you always have with the same team dedicated to helping you. If you have any 401(k)-specific questions, connect with our retirement specialists. We're committed to making sure your experience stays smooth and reliable and supported by people who know your business.
Q: Will service quality change? A: Not at all. In fact, we plan to maintain the excellent service you're used to but enhance it over time by combining the strengths of both companies. You can expect the same reliable platform and support. Over time, you'll benefit from the Gusto and Guideline teams growing together.
Q: Will my account or customer data be migrated or shared? A: We uphold strict data protection standards. Your info will remain confidential. We will not share it with outside organizations.
Q: How do I log in to my 401(k)? A: Now your 401(k) and payroll work together: one login, one great experience for you and your team. You can use Gusto Single Sign-On (SSO) to access your dashboard at my.guideline.com. You can continue using your Guideline credentials to access your account if you prefer a separate login experience.
Q: Will there be new features coming as a result of this news? A: Now that Guideline is part of Gusto, we're excited to work together designing new features that unlock the full power of a truly integrated platform. We'll be focused on making it easier and more intuitive for small business owners to set up and manage retirement benefits for their teams.
Q: Why is this good for me? A: Gusto and Guideline share the same mission: to make payroll, benefits, and retirement plans simple and accessible for small businesses. By combining, we'll bring you an even more seamless experience in the future.
Q: I don't use Guideline for my 401(k). Does this mean I have to change my 401(k) provider? A: No. Nothing changes with your current 401(k) provider. We will continue supporting all of our 401(k) partners—Betterment, Human Interest, Vestwell, and those 401(k) providers we integrate with through Pay(k)onnect.
Q: Should I consider switching to Gusto 401(k)? A: It’s always good to assess what’s best for your business. Gusto and Guideline share the same mission — to solve real problems for small businesses. Together we’re focused on making it easier and more intuitive than ever for small business owners to set up and manage retirement benefits for their teams.
All-in-one platform: Manage payroll, benefits, and 401(k) together in one place—no more juggling multiple providers.
Built-in compliance: Gusto 401(k) satisfies state retirement mandates, helping your business stay compliant with less effort.
Automatic tax credits: Easily access small business 401(k) tax credits that can cover up to 100% of your plan costs.
Q: I don't use Guideline for my 401(k). Will my service be disrupted? A: Not at all—your payroll, benefits, and 401(k) continue to work seamlessly together in Gusto.
Q: Why should I stay with Gusto payroll if competitors reach out? A: Switching payroll and HR systems is often complex and risky—especially when it comes to retirement plans. It often takes 60–90 days, involves legal filings, and may create a blackout period where employees lose access to their accounts. With Gusto, you already have payroll, HR, and benefits in one trusted platform, fully supported by our team.
Q: Will costs or fees change? A: We're committed to stability and transparency. We do not plan any pricing changes at this time.
Q: Why is this good for small businesses? A: Guideline shares our belief that small businesses deserve access to world-class benefits. Together we'll keep simplifying payroll and retirement for business owners like you—while we make sure your current experience remains fully supported.
