The Haven and Gusto integration makes it simple to sync payroll data directly into Haven Accounting. You can securely connect your Gusto account and automate journal entries, employee expense allocations, and more—saving hours of manual work every month.

You must be the Gusto account owner (primary admin) to connect to Haven. Here’s how:
Go to People.
Next to Add person, click the caret and choose Add collaborator.
Under Relationship to your organization, select Accountant.
For What will they help with?, click the checkbox next to Take care of taxes and reporting.
For the first and last name, enter Haven in both fields.
For the email, enter [email protected].
Under Access level, choose Global admin.
Click Save collaborator.
Once connected, Haven automatically syncs payroll from Gusto once a day. Your Haven accountant reviews and reconciles the payroll report before posting journal entries to QuickBooks.
If you need historical data, ask your Haven team to import your payroll history into Haven for backfill and reconciliation. Haven can pull historical payrolls as far back as the start of the current calendar year.
If journal entry sync fails due to mapping errors
Your Haven accountant will resolve mapping issues before retrying the sync.
If you no longer want data to sync from Gusto to Haven, or if you're troubleshooting the connection, follow these steps to disconnect:
Sign in to your Gusto admin account.
You must be the account owner (primary admin) to manage collaborator roles.
Go to People.
Click the Collaborators tab.
Click Haven (the line with the email [email protected])
Click Remove from role.
Q: Do I need to run payroll reports in Gusto for Haven to work?
A: No — once you add Haven to Gusto as a collaborator, Haven pulls payroll data automatically and your accountant handles the rest.
Q: How far back can Haven pull payroll data?
A: By request, Haven can pull historical payrolls from the start of the current year (or a custom date range).
Q: Can I map Gusto employees to vendors or contacts in Haven?
A: Not at this time.
