Change your company bank account
If your company changes its bank account, you can update this info in Gusto.
Please remember, we must verify your new bank account before you can process a payroll. If eligible, you can use instant bank verification to get set up right away. If you do not use instant bank verification, you will get two test deposits sent to your account for verification.
Important: This can take up to two business days, so make sure to leave enough time to update your bank account before you need to run payroll.
- Click on the Company Details tab.
- Navigate to the Bank Account section and click Edit.
- Enter in your new Routing Number, Account Number, and Account Type.
- Click Save & Continue.
Questions and Answers
Q: Can I add multiple company bank accounts?
A: Currently you can only add one company bank account for all payments. This includes payments for taxes, payrolls, contractor payments, and invoices.
Q: What is Instant Bank Verification (IBV)?
A: IBV is an easy way to instantly connect your bank account to Gusto. We use the same technology that banks use to keep your account information safe so everything you provide is protected.
Q: What if I don’t get the test deposits?
A: Either the account information was entered incorrectly or the deposit amounts were entered incorrectly in Gusto. If the verification doesn't work, you'll be emailed with a request to make changes to your account details for proper bank setup.
Q: Does Gusto support alphanumeric bank accounts?
A: Yes. We allow users to use bank accounts with both letters and numbers.
