Out-of-pocket maximum (OOP max)

The out-of-pocket maximum (OOP) is the maximum amount you’ll pay for your covered health care services for the year. Once you’ve met your OOP max, you will no longer have to pay co-pays, coinsurance, or any other costs associated with services covered by your insurance plan for the rest of the year and resets annually.
