A co-pay is the fixed dollar amount you have to pay each time you receive a healthcare service. The amount of your co-pay depends on your insurance plan and can be different for different types of services. For example, your co-pay for doctor’s office visits may be different than your co-pay for emergency room visits or mental health services. You may also have different co-pays for different types of prescription drugs.
To find out what your co-pay is, log onto your Gusto account and follow these steps:
- Click the Benefits tab.
- Click on the tile of the benefit you'd like to review.
- If you have a co-pay, it will appear in the "Plan Details" section.
- Your co-pay will also appear on your Summary of Benefits and Coverage, which you can download by clicking on the link beside "Policy Name."
Note: Many preventive health services such as physicals, women’s annual exams, vaccinations, and well-child checkups, have no co-pay and are entirely covered by your insurer. This article is relevant to companies who have benefits managed by Gusto. For companies who have benefits managed externally, please contact your broker of record for your plan details.
