The Notifications Center is your one home for two things: The tasks Gusto needs you to act on, and the updates about your account you should know about.
Instead of checking your Home page, your email, and your push notifications one by one, you can see it all in one place. Go to a different article to learn how to manage your email and text notifications.
Here is what the Notification Center in Gusto gives you:
One place to look. Your to-dos and your account updates live together, so nothing important gets lost across email and the app.
The most urgent items first. Gusto ranks your tasks by priority and due date, so the most time-sensitive ones rise to the top.
Fewer things to hunt for. Confirmations, like a completed payroll, show up right where you are, so you do not have to dig through your inbox to check that something went through.
Open it from anywhere. The Notifications Center is one click away from any page in Gusto.
The Notifications Center is now available to company admins, on the web.
If you're an employee, you can already see the Tasks and Recent activity widgets on your Home page — your full Notifications Center is coming soon. We're also bringing it to Accountants and the Gusto mobile app later, too.
To open your Notifications Center, select the bell icon in the top navigation bar, in the top-right corner of any page in Gusto. This opens your Notifications, with two tabs: Tasks and Activity.
You can also open it from your Home page. Select View all tasks or View all updates on the Home page widgets to land on the matching tab.
The Tasks tab lists every task assigned to you.
Tasks are the items that need you to do something, such as signing a document, running a payroll, approving a time-off request, or finishing a step in your account setup.
Gusto ranks tasks by a mix of priority and due date, so the most urgent, time-sensitive items always show at the top. You can act on a task right from this tab.
The Activity tab shows updates about your account — the things Gusto or your team wants you to know about. These are updates to be aware of, not tasks to act on, and they include both recent and upcoming items.
You will see updates such as payroll confirmations and benefits changes here.
To narrow the list, use the filter to show only the kinds of updates you want. When you are caught up, select Mark all as read to clear them in one click.
Your Home page gives you a quick view without opening the full Notifications Center:
The Tasks widget shows your top 3 priority tasks, so you always know what to do first.
The Recent activity widget shows your most important updates right where you're already looking.
Select View all tasks or View all updates on either widget to open the full list in your Notifications Center.
