This article is for admins who want to integrate ApplicantPro with Gusto.
ApplicantPro is a recruiting software that helps you streamline and optimize your hiring process.
The integration sends new hire data from ApplicantPro to Gusto, which simplifies the administrative process.
Note: Customers who join Gusto from ApplicantPro will receive Gusto payroll free for their first 3 months.
Before you can send new hire data, you need to connect ApplicantPro and Gusto. Follow the steps to set up the integration.
To connect Applicant Pro and Gusto:
Let ApplicantPro know you’re interested in setting up the integration by:
Visiting the Marketplace and submitting interest in Gusto.
Contacting the support team at [email protected] and asking to set up the integration.
Admins can also use the chat feature to contact support.
In ApplicantPro, from the top menu, go to the Applicants section.
Click an applicant name.
Click the Integrations tab.
Under HR Fuse, a tab labeled “Gusto” will appear.
In order to use Gusto, you need to authorize the integration first. Click Give Authorization in the pop-up screen.
Once you click Give Authorization, the Gusto login page opens in a new browser tab.
Enter your sign-in credentials and click Sign In.
Click Authorize.
If you sign in successfully, the Gusto page automatically closes, and you’ll be redirected back to the integration page.
Click Refresh Integration.
You can now use the integration.
Once you connect the integration, you can send new hire data from ApplicantPro to Gusto for any applicant.
To send new hire data from ApplicantPro to Gusto:
In ApplicantPro, from the top menu, go to the Applicants section.
Click an applicant name.
Click the Integrations tab.
Under HR Fuse, a tab labeled “Gusto” will appear.
Click Start Process.
Confirm the company from the dropdown, and the applicant’s personal information.
If you already created an employee in Gusto, and you attempt to add them again through this integration, either:
An error message appears when entering their Social Security number (SSN) that indicates the SSN is a duplicate, or
We’ll create a duplicate employee if the SSNs do not match (or if you leave the SSN field blank).
Click Next.
This sends the applicant information to Gusto.
Confirm the applicant’s address, or add one.
Click Next.
Confirm the job information, or add the details.
Click Next.
Confirm the pay information, or add the details.
Click Send to Gusto.
The status should read as “Successfully Sent.”
If there’s a check mark next to the Gusto tag for the applicant, this means you sent all their info to Gusto.
If there’s no check mark next to the Gusto tag for the applicant, this means the applicant still has onboarding info to complete.
You may need to refresh your page for the Gusto tag to update.
Go to Hiring in your Gusto account and complete any remaining onboarding steps.
If you did not complete the onboarding information, you can return to the applicant’s Integration tab and choose to continue onboarding or start the process over if needed.
Continuing Onboarding: Use this option if onboarding is incomplete, and you want to continue where you left off. With this option, you cannot edit information on previous pages.
Start Process/Restart Onboarding: Use this option if onboarding is incomplete, and you want to start from scratch, or to make sure you submitted the correct data.
