Switch between Gusto profiles and accounts

If you're an admin and can't find a certain tab or are having issues navigating your account, you may need to switch between your employee and admin accounts. 

Gusto users can have more than one profile associated to a single email address—like employee accounts and administrator accounts— and can also have one email address associated with multiple companies

Account types

  • Use your Employee account to view your personal paystubs, manage your personal info, enroll yourself in benefits, and more.
  • If you're granted access, use your Admin account to perform any company-level functions that you have permissions for, like running payroll or generating reports about your team.

Switch between account types

If you use the same email address to sign in to multiple Gusto profiles or account types, follow below steps to switch between them. If you use a different email address to sign in to your other accounts, sign out then sign back in with your other credentials. 

  1. Sign in to your Gusto account.
  2. Click your profile name that appears on the upper-right corner.
  3. Click Switch Company or Switch to employee profile.
  4. Select your desired profile or account.

If you don't see an account that you're looking for in the dropdown, the company may have a different email address associated with your account. If this is the case, reach out to the admin of that company to verify.

Enable switching between account types

If you currently use different email addresses for different accounts but you want to switch between profiles more easily, follow these steps. You must be an admin of the company   Change your email to match the email on the other account(s) if you'd like to manage all Gusto account types from one login.

If you're not an admin of the company, ask your admin to update your email address
