Set up multiple pay schedules for new customers

Once you've added both hourly and salaried employees to Gusto, you set up one pay schedule for your salaried employees and another for your hourly employees.

If you have already run at least one payroll through Gusto, please reference this article.

Step 1. Enable multiple pay schedules

  1. Click the Settings tab.
  2. Click the Payroll tab.
  3. Next to Multiple Pay Schedules, click Edit.
  4. Next to Status, click Enabled.
  5. Click Save.

Step 2. Create a second pay schedule

  1. Click the Company Details tab.
  2. Under Pay Schedule, click Add New Pay Schedule.
  3. Select which employee type is going to use this second pay schedule: All Current and Future Hourly Employees or All Current and Future Salaried Employees.
  4. Select the Pay Period.
  5. Select the Pay Days for this pay period.
  6. Select the First Pay Day for this pay period.
  7. Click Save.
  8. You will now receive separate Run Payroll notifications on your Dashboard and separate Run Payroll reminder emails for both pay schedules.
