Customers on the Premium plan have access to the performance review feature—admins can upgrade the plan at any time.
Administrators set up a review/review cycle
Admins assign “reviewers” (typically a manager) for each employee—both reviewers and admins can view your self-evaluations.
Admins and reviewers can see the performance review progress
Admins and reviewers have access to a dashboard showing if self-evaluations and reviewer evaluations have been completed.
Reviewers will be able to see your goals while filling out their review.
Your admin or reviewer may share the feedback directly in Gusto, in person, or in some other fashion.
After your self-evaluation is complete, it’s up to your admin and/or reviewer to decide if and when to share the review(s).
If a review has been shared with you in Gusto, you can access it from the Performance section of your account.
Once admins create a review cycle, you’ll receive an email with a request to complete your self-evaluation. You’ll also see a reminder on your Dashboard that takes you to a new Performance section in Gusto.
Click the Dashboard sticky to take you to the new Performance page in Gusto—you can also go directly to the Performance section of your account.
You’ll be able to see current review cycles, and over time, past ones as well.
Click into the applicable current review cycle.
Enter your response to the prompt(s), and click Submit.
Max character limit: 65,000 characters
Confirm your submission by clicking Submit again—once sent, answers cannot be edited or taken back.
Once you’ve completed your self-evaluation, you’ll be able to view your response in the Performance section by clicking into the specific cycle.
If an admin or reviewer shares the full review (including the reviewer response) in Gusto with you, you’ll be able to see all responses in the same location.
Head to the Performance section.
Click View next to the review cycle you want to view.
Click Manger review, Self-evaluation, or Summary to review information.
If you don’t get the answer you were hoping for, we’d like your feedback about how we can improve this feature in the future.
Q: Can new managers or new reviewers see past reviews that they didn’t complete?
A: Managers configured in your org chart can view and export reviews for their reports—if the manager changes, the new manager will have access to the historical reviews.
