This article is for admins who have access to HR Resources, either through the Premium plan or the HR Resources add-on.
Starting Sep 15, 2026, Gusto's HR compliance tools — employee handbook, HR documents, compliance guidance, and expert HR support — move from Mineral, our previous third-party partner, into Gusto's own HR Resources. You will not need a separate Mineral sign-in anymore. Mineral is no longer accessible through Gusto after Oct 15, 2026.
Important: You need to save anything you want to keep from Mineral before Oct 15, 2026. Your content will not move to Gusto automatically.
Expand the sections below for details.
If you already have HR Resources, your pricing and packaging stay the same. Your account automatically shows Gusto's new HR experience at no added cost. Some tools work differently than they did in Mineral, and we're continuing to expand this experience over time.
If you do not have HR Resources and want it, you need to upgrade to Premium. Starting Sep 15, 2026, the HR Resources add-on is no longer available for new purchase.
If you would rather keep using Mineral directly instead of switching to Gusto's native tools, you can request your own Mineral account. Fill out the interest form and Mineral will follow up to finish setting up your account. Your sign-in carries over, so you do not need a new password, and your handbook and case history transfer automatically. Mineral's team can share pricing details for accounts set up this way.
Your content in Mineral will not move to Gusto automatically. Before Oct 15, 2026, review and save anything you want to keep, like:
HR documents you created, like handbooks, offer letters, performance improvement plans, termination letters, and accommodation forms.
Job description templates built in Mineral’s job description builder.
Your HR Expert conversation history — these conversations do not carry over, so save anything you want to reference later.
You may also want to check for OSHA 300 and 300A safety logs if you track workplace injury and illness records in Mineral, and Salary Comparison Tool reports if you’ve run compensation benchmarking in Mineral.
HR Expert conversation history: From your Avatar or System Admin menu, select My Cases under My Tools, then View on a submission, and use the download icon to save any links you want to keep.
Job description templates: Go to HR Tools, then Job Description Builder, then My Saved Jobs, then choose the download option for each saved description.
OSHA 300 and 300A logs: Go to Safety, then OSHA Logs, select the OSHA 300 tab (and OSHA 300A Summary if needed), then Actions, then choose the download option you need.
Salary Comparison Tool reports: Go to HR Tools, then Salary Comparison Tool. At the bottom of the salary.com dashboard, select Export to PDF or XLS, or export individual reports from each job title report.
HR documents you created, like offer letters, performance improvement plans, termination letters, and accommodation forms: There is not one dedicated export path for these documents. If you do not see a download option in the relevant module, contact Mineral support directly.
Until Oct 15, 2026, you can get help with any of these steps from the Mineral Help Center, the Get Help button inside Mineral, or by calling 844-413-2468 (option 2).
Your Mineral handbook cannot transfer automatically. If you have one, download it before Oct 15, 2026. You'll need to rebuild it using Gusto's handbook tool afterward.
Heads up: If a red flag icon appears on your handbook, downloads stay greyed out until you accept or dismiss all outstanding policies.
To download your Mineral handbook, follow these steps:
Go to the HR Resources page within the People tab.
Hover over Company Policies, then Handbooks. Select Actions next to the handbook you want, then choose Download Word or Download PDF.
When you're ready to rebuild your handbook, use Gusto's native handbook tool.
Q: Does this affect my payroll or benefits?
A: No. This change only affects HR compliance tools, like the handbook, HR documents, HR Expert access, and compliance guidance. Your payroll and benefits are not affected.
Q: I have the HR Resources add-on today. Will I lose access?
A: No. You keep your HR functionality. It's simply moving from Mineral into Gusto natively. As long as you keep your current plan or add-on active, nothing is taken away.
Q: Can I still buy the HR Resources add-on?
A: Not after Sep 15, 2026. If you do not already have HR Resources and want it after that date, you need to upgrade to Premium.
Q: What if I don't do anything?
A: You do not need to take action to get access to the new HR tools. If you already have HR Resources through Premium or an add-on, you get access to the new Gusto capabilities automatically on Sep 15, 2026. Mineral stays available until Oct 15, 2026, so use that time to download anything you want to keep.
Q: Can I keep using Mineral directly?
A: Yes. If you would rather continue using Mineral directly instead of Gusto's native tools, fill out the interest form to request your own Mineral account. Mineral will reach out to finish setting up your account and can share pricing details with you at that point.
Q: Who do I contact if I need help downloading or exporting something from Mineral?
A: For help with the download or export steps, contact Mineral directly through the Mineral Help Center, the in-platform Get Help button, or 844-413-2468 (option 2), available through Oct 15, 2026. For questions about the transition itself, like what is changing, whether you need to upgrade, or timing, contact Gusto Support.
