If you're an employee or contractor looking to gain access to a Gusto account, reach out to your employer as they need to give you access first.
Admins can follow the steps below to grant access to employees or contractors or resend any welcome emails that may not have been received. If your team has trouble signing in after you've granted access, have them check out this article on troubleshooting sign-in issues.
Employees with access to their Gusto account can easily view their paystubs, obtain year-end W-2 forms, and adjust their personal information online. Review this list for other employee online account benefits. Employees will have access to their account even if they are no longer with the company.
When you originally onboard your employees in Gusto you can give them online access by adding their personal email addresses. If you didn't grant them access during onboarding, follow these steps to give them online access after the fact:
Your employee will receive an email from us with a link to access their Gusto account. If they don't see it immediately, instruct them to check their spam folder.
If it can't be found and/or was deleted, have the employee click Reset Password and another email will be sent for them to access their account.

If you added an employee email address during onboarding and they did not receive the welcome email, you can resend it.
Important: you will only see this option once you've added the employee to payroll.
If an employee has already started self-onboarding and is having trouble gaining access, these troubleshooting steps should help.
If you chose to manually onboard the employee—you did not add their email address when setting up their account—go back to the employee's account, and add the email address in the add to payroll task. This will trigger a welcome email to be sent to the employee.
