If you're looking to "open an account", you must have first been granted online access from your employer. Reach out to the employer about which email they've associated with your Gusto account (entered during onboarding).
Reset your password
Admins can't reset a password on an employee's behalf. Employees must reset their own password by following these steps:
We'll send password reset instructions to the email address associated with your account within a few minutes. Check your spam or junk folders if you don't see this email in your inbox.
Important: If you entered an email that is not associated with a Gusto profile, no password reset email will be sent. To troubleshoot, start the process again but select “I’m an employee and forgot my email address” to find the email associated with your account.
Recover your email address for employees
Follow these steps to recover your email if you already use 2-step verification with Gusto:
If you don’t have 2-step verification enabled, or you still need to recover your email address:
When your password is entered incorrectly too many times, your account will lock.

If you weren't locked out but are still having trouble gaining access, or you're unsure which email is connected to your Gusto account, find additional troubleshooting steps in this article.
